Thx to Big Chett for fwd'ing this. "Can't" sends me thru the roof as much as anything. We might have to implement a burpee penalty for "I can't..."
The class normally held today will be tomorrow instead due to A/V CCTV installation. Let me ask you this, what would you prefer to hear? "We CAN"T train on Saturday (in a whiny nasally nails on the chalkboard kinda tone)? Or, We CAN come in on Sunday! My glass is half full, which beats half empty every time.

Thanks for sharing! I think I heard that word thrown around a few times yesterday before the WOD & it drove me a little crazy. You don't know if you can, if you don't try.

I heard this from a friend at another box, but they had a whiteboard with a line down the middle. On one side everyone wrote down one thing they "can't do" (e.g., # consecutive DUs, # unassisted pull ups, # min mile run, etc) and that's basically what each person focused on when time allowed in the gym, or what they worked on outside of it. It's also what they each starred at every time they walked in the frigg'n place;)
On the other side of the board was basically the 'i can" section, where folks wrote down the date of whatever challenge they overcame. It's just another way of bringing some focus to your goals, whether you do it as a group or on your own.
